Comércio de crianças e mulheres na indústria da gestação de substituição
A Comunicação Internacional revelou recentemente imagens de uma das maiores clínicas de fertilidade da Ucrânia. Bebés recém-nascidas/os gritavam por cuidados e não podiam ser recolhidas/os por clientes estrangeiras/os devido ao fecho de fronteiras decorrente da COVID-19. A situação revelou a enorme dimensão do comércio global de crianças e de mulheres e sublinhou a necessidade de as convenções internacionais sobre os direitos das crianças e das mulheres serem respeitadas.
A Relatora Especial das Nações Unidas identificou a gestação de substituição como sendo a venda de crianças, tal como definido no Protocolo Facultativo à Convenção sobre os Direitos da Criança. O Parlamento Europeu condenou a prática da gestação de substituição, “que compromete a dignidade humana da mulher, pois o seu corpo e as suas funções reprodutoras são utilizados como mercadoria”. Considerou ainda que “a prática de gestação para outrem, que envolve a exploração reprodutiva e a utilização do corpo humano para ganhos financeiros ou outros, nomeadamente de mulheres vulneráveis em países em desenvolvimento, deve ser proibida e tratada com urgência em instrumentos de direitos humanos “.
É urgente o encerramento do turismo reprodutivo e a proibição de todas as formas de comércio de crianças e de mulheres.
